北京市西城区中古友谊小学原名国家计委子弟小学，创建于 1954年1月。1964年1月由国家外交部命名为北京市 西城区 中古友谊小学，成为一所对外窗口学校。目前，学校有36个教学班，有着现代化的办学条件，高素质的教师队伍。 学校 以“以人为本，至和至美”为理念，努力营造“和合而生”的教育生态系统(“和合”即：包容、协作、平衡、秩序)。

　　学校发挥人格自我约束和自我发展的作用，建设了特别讲团结，特别讲奉献，特别讲创新的干部教师队伍。先后被评为文明单位、巾帼建功文明岗、北京市三八红旗集团、思想政治工作先进单位、西城区教育系统干部培训实践基地、法治校示范学校、北京市西城区全面实施素质教育工作评价试点学校、北京西城区全面实施素质教育优类学校、北京市礼仪示范校、北京市少先队基础建设规范化窗口学校、西城区科技教育示范校等称号， 赢得了各界的赞誉。

　　教学水平高已成为我校的办学特色，各科成绩均居西城区前茅。2003年9月，学校与北师大前沿课程教育研究所共同 开展“PECI小学英语课程整体改革实验”。实验课程不仅形式新颖，还提高了学生动手、动脑的能力，发展了他们的创造性思维。实验成果显著，辐射到其他学科上，使学生获得了良好的学习效益。

　　1999年，与澳大利亚合作的电子琴实验项目，让每一个孩子都能在弹奏一首电子琴曲中获得音乐的陶冶，树立“我能行”的自信，成为孩子发展的又一优质平台。

　　Brief introduction of the China-Cuba Friendship Primary School

　　Located at the Xicheng District in Beijing of China, the China-Cuba Friendship Primary School was founded in January of 1954 and was originally known as the Offspring Primary School of China's State Development Planning Commission. In January of 1964, the School was renamed as the China-Cuba Friendship Primary School by China 's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and became a “window” school to foreign countries.

　　At present, the School is composed of 36 classes, equipped with advanced teaching and studying facilities, and has a high-caliber teaching faculty. With a school-running concept of “being people-oriented, harmonious and perfect”, the school devotes itself to build an educational system featuring magnanimous, cooperative, balanced and orderly.

　　By attaching great attentions to teachers' self-discipline and self-improvement, the school is able to possess a group of teaching staff and administrative personnel with characteristics of being harmonious, dedicatory and innovative.

　　Since its founding in 1954, the school has won a variety of glorious titles including the “First-rate Quality Education School in Xicheng District of Beijing”, “ Beijing Etiquette Model School ” and “Science and Technology Education Model School ”, etc.

　　The School is famous for its superior teaching level and ranks first in all primary schools of the Xicheng District of Beijing.

　　Since September of 2003, the School has cooperated with an educational research institute from the Beijing Normal University to open an experimental class, aiming to reform the English course for primary school students. With special teaching methods applied, the experimental class not only has enhanced the students' English level, but also helped to improve their various practical capabilities. As a result, students are now able to make use of their experience in studying experimental English course to learn other courses and get notable effects.

　　The School made joint efforts with an Australian school in 1999 to sponsor a Sino-Australian Electronic Organ Playing Course. The course provides students of the school with good chances to mould their self-confident and elegant characters through beautiful music.

　　With the school motto of “Passing on Friendship and Seeking for Perfection”, the China-Cuba Friendship Primary School is to keep on renovating its school-running concept and improving its teaching quality, just in a bid to make itself the best primary school in the Xicheng District of Beijing.
